摘要： The invention concerns a device for absorbing shocks and vibrations felt by the rider and the horse thereby preventing the rider from feeling pain in the ankle and knee joints. It releases the horse which practically no longer feels the jolts transmitted by the stirrup leather and runs at its best without any fear or constraint. The invention concerns three devices for reducing shocks and vibrations while providing the rider with perfect control of his horse through the stirrups. The rotational system enables the stirrup to be always well oriented relatively to the rider's foot (thereby avoiding injuries resulting from the stirrup leather strap getting twisted when riding without boots), by its pin pivoting over 360 DEG . The shock-absorbing system dampens the shocks and eliminates the vibrations by means of a compression spring, and enables to maintain by spring effect, the stirrup sole (8) pressed under the rider's foot. The oscillating articulated junction enables the stirrup sole (8) to be constantly in maximum contact with the rider's foot. The invention is particularly designed for all riders of all levels and ages.

The stirrup includes a foot plate, a U-shaped attachment shank, and a connecting structural member. The U-shaped shank attaches to a saddles strap and includes a first shank leg, a second shank leg, and a web shank. The foot plate supports the rider's foot and is mounted offset to the U-shaped attachment shank by the connecting structural member. The first shank and the second shank are oriented normal to the foot plate to horizontally suspend the foot plate. The first shank leg is positioned parallel and coincident with a sagittal plane of the foot plate, directly over the foot plate. For comfort, a sagittal plane of the U-shaped attachment shank is oriented at a first acute angle with the sagittal plane of the foot plate.

摘要： A stirrup for a horse saddle has a cylindrical stirrup bolt assembly attached across an open end of the stirrup and, in a conventional fashion, the bolt assembly rests in the bottom loop of a stirrup strap which is attached to the saddle fender to hold the stirrup in place during normal use. The stirrup bolt assembly comprises an outer housing with rotatable and axially movable pins or rods which have keyed outer ends extending out the end of the housing for engaging keyed openings at the open end of the stirrup with a spring within the cylindrical housing applying a force to the pins to hold them in engagement with the stirrup keyed openings. A helically shaped slot or groove on the outer surface of the pins is engaged by fingers attached to the cylindrical housing so as the stirrup swings in an arc with respect to the stirrup strap the fingers act in the slot to apply a force in opposition to the spring force to pull the pins axially inward. If the angle of the arc of the stirrup exceeds a predetermined angle, the rods or pins are moved inward far enough so that they disengage from the openings in the stirrup so that the stirrup will fall free and thereby disengage the stirrup and the rider's foot from attachment to the saddle.

摘要： A curved side piece is fixedly attached to any stirrup strap and depends therefrom. One end of the tread is attached to the side piece and terminates in an unsupported free end. A retaining dome or wash rises up from the free end of the tread and has a smoothly curved inner boot contacting surface which retains the rider's foot but slopes away from his foot on all sides so as to minimize the chance of catching or hanging the foot, footwear or trousers leg in a fall. A retaining strap is pivotally attached to the top of the dome and slidably engaged with a cooperating member on the stirrup strap. In the event of a fall, the top of the retaining strap becomes disengaged thus allowing the foot to be freely released from the stirrup.
