    • PURPOSE:To present a solar-heat-driven pump of high capacity by using solar heat for a high-heat source of a thermal-engine-driven pump to obtain power by heating and cooling a shape-memory alloy and cool water pumped up by a pump for a low-heat source. CONSTITUTION:A thermal engine 1 to be rotated by the work of shape-memory alloy is contained in a container tank 7. Outside the container tank 7, a solar collector 9 is provided to supply hot water as a high-heat source, while a heat- collecting pipe 10 is connected to the container tank 7. A pump 11 is connected to a shaft 14 of a thermal engine. The underground water pumped up works as a low-heat source at the bottom of the container tank, and is then sent to a storage tank for use.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to use a heat engine for various purposes, by disposing reciprocating pumps to extend radially from the turning shaft of a wheel, and fixing a member made of a shape memory alloy between the wheel and a piston rod of each reciprocating pump. CONSTITUTION:Reciprocating pumps 5 are disposed to extend radially from the turning shaft 4 of a wheel 4, and a piston rod 7 of each reciprocating pump 5 is connected to the wheel 4 by the intermediary of a member made of a shape memory alloy 9. The upper section functions as a high-temperature heat source while the lower section functions as a low-temperature heat source. When the temperature at the high-temperature heat source section is raised, the member 9 made of a shape memory alloy begins to contract, so that the piston rod 7 is moved in the direction shown by an arrow D in the drawing. Resultantly, fluid in a discharge chamber 12 is forced to the outside and rotor blades 18 of a fluid motor 17 are set into rotation, so that the wheel 4 is turned. On the other hand, when the member 9 is moved to the low-temperature side, the piston rod 7 is moved in the opposite direction and the wheel 4 continues its rotation. Therefore, it is enabled to obtain an output of a desired speed of rotation and to use the apparatus for various purposes.
