摘要： A case for a portable electronic device such as cell phones, cameras, MP3 players and PDAs wherein said case includes material at the corners to provide protection to the electronic device. To reduce bulk at the corners and allow the material forming the case to conform with the contours of the device, the protection at the corners includes strips of material defining apertures there between. The apertures provide reduction in bulk and allow the case to conform to the corners of the device therein. Alternately, the protection at the corners can be provided by other structures co-molded into the comers of the cases. Such structures include material that is of a reduced thickness than other material used in the case, or structures that are formed to conform to the corners of the case. Such structures can be joined to the material forming the panels of the case by co-molding.

The assembly includes a retainer mounted on the case, the receiver designed to accept and secure a removeable post onto which the belt clip is mounted. In a first embodiment the retainer includes a recess and tabs which secure the post in place when a base of the post is secured in the recess. In an alternate embodiment, the retainer includes a plurality of shafts which include a recess, the shafts engaging tabs in receivers on the base of the mounting post.

摘要： A shredder is disclosed. The shredder includes a waste receptacle that has an interior waste receiving space, and a shredder mechanism that includes a motor and cutter elements. The shredder mechanism is positioned so that shredded articles are discharged downwardly into the waste receiving space. The receptacle includes a waste opening separate from the shredder mechanism for enabling articles to be discarded though the waste opening and received in the waste receiving space without passing through the shredder mechanism. A cover is moveable between a closed position that covers the waste opening, and an open position that opens the waste opening. A sensor for sensing the position of the cover is operatively connected to the shredder mechanism so that the shredder mechanism is inoperable at least when the sensor senses that the cover is in the open position. Other variations and improvements to shredders are also disclosed.

摘要： A case for use with an electronic device includes a base portion with side portions extending therefrom forming a pocket. The case also includes a first material generally at an exterior of the pocket, forming a majority of an exterior surface of the base portion, and a second material secured to and having a higher coefficient of friction than the first material, generally at an interior of the pocket. The second material protrudes through aperture(s) in the first material at the base portion to protrude from the interior to the exterior of the base portion, and outward from the first material such that the second material contacts a support surface when the base portion is placed thereon. The protruding second material extends away from the aperture(s) on opposing surfaces of the first material at the exterior and interior of the pocket to provide securement between the first and second materials.
