The process reduces the loss rate of mother liquid, reduces environmental pollution, and improves the recovery rate of rare earth elements.

    • Embodiments of the invention relate to modeling communities associated with groups of data items. Tools are provided to iteratively assign data items to communities and to update topic and participant distribution in the assigned communities. As the distributions are updated, the characteristics of the communities are updated. Each activity area is defined from the perspective of a single user. Participants in a community are connected to a user, but not necessarily to each other. The combination of formations of communities and the statistical aspect of evaluating characteristics of the communities provides a multi-facetted organization of connections between data items and associated participants.

    • Method and apparatus are provided for a hand-held planetarium which displays a sky pattern comprising graphical representations of one or more celestial objects. A sensing system comprising one or more sensors provides information about an orientation of the device. A controller receives the information about the orientation of the device from the sensing system and determines therefrom an altitude angle of a pointing axis and an azimuthal angle of the pointing axis. The controller accesses a database of celestial objects and determines, from within the database, one or more selected celestial objects for display based at least in part on a measure of proximity of the celestial objects to the pointing axis. Graphical representations of the one or more selected celestial objects are displayed on a display screen. The planetarium may switch between a normal orientation mode and a downward facing orientation mode.

    • One or more classification algorithms are applied to at least one natural language document in order to extract both attributes and values of a given product. Supervised classification algorithms, semi-supervised classification algorithms, unsupervised classification algorithms or combinations of such classification algorithms may be employed for this purpose. The at least one natural language document may be obtained via a public communication network. Two or more attributes (or two or more values) thus identified may be merged to form one or more attribute phrases or value phrases. Once attributes and values have been extracted in this manner, association or linking operations may be performed to establish attribute-value pairs that are descriptive of the product. In a presently preferred embodiment, an (unsupervised) algorithm is used to generate seed attributes and values which can then support a supervised or semi-supervised classification algorithm.

    • A computing system receives input data having both graph and unstructured data and computes a current log likelihood of the input data. The computing system compares the current log likelihood with a previous log likelihood of the input data. If the current log likelihood is larger than the previous log likelihood, the computing system update topic modeling parameters, community modeling parameters, and the link generation parameter until the computing system obtains a maximal value of the log likelihood of the input data. Then, the computing system creates a graph indicating topic similarity between the input data based on the topic modeling parameters, creates another graph indicating community similarity between entities associated with the input data based on the community modeling parameters, and predicts a link existence between input data or entities based on the link generation parameter, the topic modeling parameter and the community modeling parameter.
