摘要： The food skewering machine includes a base and a food holding tray that is removably installed within the base. The tray includes two portions that are hingedly attached together. Each portion of the tray includes a series of receptacles for holding meat or other foods to be skewered when the two hinged portions are closed. A skewer driver can travel back and forth along the length of the base to drive or push skewers into the tray, thereby skewering the contents of the receptacles within the tray. The food holding receptacles within the tray may include any practicable number and are arranged in rows to provide for the simultaneous skewering of food using multiple skewers. Each row has a plurality of receptacles therein to allow each skewer to impale a plurality of food elements during a single skewering operation.

摘要： A device for inserting flat skewers into ingredients for making brochettes, the ingredients are disposed in a recess or impression provided in at least one plate. The device includes an inlet guide having a groove intended to receive a skewer and co-operating with a guide that can re-centre the skewer as it is moved by a push rod inserted into the groove. A second groove is provided in the plate opposite to and coaxially aligned with the first groove. The second groove opens into the recess that receives the ingredients. The second groove co-operates with a guide that can direct and hold the skewer as the ingredients are being skewered under the force of the push rod.

The compartments are dimensioned to hold a marinating and/or seasoning material in addition to the pieces of food. Guide openings are formed through both end walls in one form of the invention, and are also formed in the partitions in alignment with the openings in the end wall, for properly locating and guiding the skewers through approximately the centers of the pieces of food. The guide openings are differently shaped and spaced in one end of the device for receiving and guiding differently sized skewers, and removable inserts are provided for adapting the size of the compartments to closely hold differently sized pieces of food. The partitions have a thickness dimension which spaces the skewered pieces of food for circulation of heat substantially all around them and more uniform cooking of the food pieces. Further, the guide openings are dimensioned to simultaneously receive and hold a plurality of skewers for storage.

The holder body includes transverse passages for receiving and clamping sticks, which are ejected from an adjacent stick box or hopper and urged into food articles or other articles retained in an article holder on the opposite side of the stick holder. To locate the stick holder in desired relation to the stick box, the stick holder and the apparatus have coacting structure to prevent relative movement. Guide blocks are mounted on the sides of the apparatus, adjacent to the ends of the stick box, and coact with the stick holder support brackets to provide a broader support base eliminating rocking movement of the stick holder about a longitudinal axis, to prevent movement of the stick holder away from the stick box, and to locate the stick holder laterally with some precision relative to the stick box.

摘要： A wiener stick applicator composed of a drum or magazine rotatable about its horizontal longitudinal axis and having parallel grooves extending longitudinally of its exterior for supporting handle sticks and wieners or wieners/half wieners, in axial aligned relationship, fed to the grooves from chute or hopper means. One end portion or generally one-half of each groove is relatively narrow for snugly receiving one of the sticks, while the remainder of each groove is relatively wide and generally equal to the diameter of the wieners. A coaxial casing circumscribes the drum in spaced relationship and coacts with the grooves to confine the sticks and wieners against displacement. The casing has an inlet opening extending longitudinally of the drum for admitting an axially aligned stick and wiener to each groove. A outlet opening, extending longitudinally of the drum, is provided in the casing in spaced relation to the inlet opening for the ejection of wieners impaled on sticks. A stick pusher is provided for each groove and has a spline slidably mounted in the outer end portion of the narrow half of said groove for engaging and forcing each stick to penetrate the wiener aligned therewith upon reciprocation of the pusher toward said stick while revolving with the drum between the inlet and outlet openings. Each pusher has a cam follower for coacting with a generally V-shaped cam slot in the casing to reciprocate the pusher toward and away from its respective stick.
