摘要： A lock mechanism includes a lock shaft (12) attached to a first bracket (3), a lock shaft support shaft (11), and a biasing spring that biases the lock shaft (12) in a direction in which the lock shaft (12) abuts against a second bracket (4). Rotational movement prevention stoppers (17 and 18) abut against each other, thereby preventing rotation of the first bracket (3) and the second bracket (4) in the locking direction and a backlash therebetween. The lock shaft (12) comes into contact with both a first side face (21) and a second side face (22), and a pair of tangents (25 and 26) to the lock shaft (12) are set to form a wedge (27), so that rotation of the first bracket (3) and the second bracket (4) in the locking direction and the opposite direction is prevented without backlash.

摘要： A folding seating unit for a vehicle provides a forward or rearward facing seat with a backrest which is capable of being folded flat and sideways against the side of the vehicle at a low level beneath the window level of the vehicle. The seating unit can be stowed within side trim panels without obscuring windows, or the load carrying area of the vehicle floor, and is particularly suited to multipurpose vehicles or vans. The seating unit includes: an outboard leg coupled to the vehicle side, and an inboard leg engaging with the vehicle floor; a retraction mechanism providing automatic folding of the inboard leg when the seating unit is folded to its stowed position; an extending backrest squab which extends the effective height of the backrest when the seating is in a deployed condition, but retracts when the seating is in the stowage position. A more compact stowed seat is achieved, while maintaining a desirable height of seating for neck and head support of an occupant of the seat, thereby reducing risk of injury in accidents, and increasing the range of occupant size for which the seating is suitable.

摘要： A damper is arranged between the seat backrest and the seat base. This damper applies a resistance to seat backrest movement, especially movement from the vertical position to the folded position. The damper includes a pin and profile mounted on the seat backrest and seat base respectively, or vice versa. The pin and profile slide against each other during movement of the seat backrest relative to the seat base. The shape, size, material, and/or the surface characteristics of the pin and profile determine the resistance to movement of the seat backrest. These parameters of the pin and profile can be varied, especially along different portions of the profile to apply the desired resistance at different angular positions of the seat backrest with respect to the seat base.
