    • A vehicle-mountable exhaust gas analyzer (100) is configured to measure concentrations of components such as NO X , CO and CO 2 contained in exhaust gas discharged from a vehicle and comprises a drain separator (13) connected to an exhausted duct of the vehicle through an unheated piping (12), wherein the exhaust gas discharged from the vehicle is cooled to a normal temperature by the unheated piping, the moisture contained in the exhausted gas condensates and attaches to inside the unheated piping as liquid moisture, and the liquid moisture is discharged out of the unheated piping through the drain separator; a measuring instrument group (4,5,6) that is configured to measure concentration of the exhaust gas components in a semi-dry state wherein liquid moisture is removed by the drain separator, a dry concentration calculating part (74) that is configured to calculate concentrations of exhaust gas components in a dry state wherein moisture is completely removed, based on the concentration of moisture and the exhaust gas component concentrations obtained by the measuring instrument group; and an actual concentration calculating part (75) that is configured to calculate exhaust gas component concentrations at a time when the exhaust gas is discharged from the vehicle, based on the concentrations of the components in the dry state and a predetermined conversion equation.

    • This invention provides a method for analyzing particulate matter in gas for analyzing simply and in high precision the particulate matter in an engine emission and an apparatus therefor by which dry soot, SOF and sulfate in PM contained in an engine emission can be fractionated individually even in a trifle amount, and a carbon differentiating and analyzing apparatus capable of differentiating and analyzing, with good precision, the organic carbon and the elemental carbon contained in a sample, and capable of performing a predetermined analysis with a high precision in a short time by reducing the period of time required for the analysis.
      This invention is constituted in such that a filter 2 which has caught PM contained in engine emission is placed in a heating furnace 1, and firstly, the filter 2 is heated at a predetermined temperature while passing an inert gas into the heating furnace 1 to evaporate the SOF and sulfate contained in PM, and the evaporated SOF is oxidized into CO 2 , and the evaporated sulfate is reduced into SO 2 . Thereafter, the filter 2 is heated while passing oxygen into the heating furnace 1 to oxidize the PM remaining on said filter 2 to have it generate CO 2 , and the CO 2 is analyzed with the gas analyzer unit 15.
