The dump mule (112) is an autonomous vehicle (110) configured to automatically hook and drop the trailer (105). The trailer (105) includes a set of automatic landing gear (420), one or more hoppers (415), an automatic tarp (410) system, and two or more retractable wheels (115). At this stage, the mule (112) bears the full weight of the trailer (105). From here, the mule (112) transports the trailer (105) to a crop storage system to empty the trailer (105) via the auger (125).

The bin may be collapsed to allow for decreased overall vertical height during transport to avoid contact with obstacles, such as overhead power lines and street lights.
