摘要： In a label printer of the invention, a guide member to guide an ink ribbon is positioned in reverse direction of separating direction of the ink ribbon with respect to the line connecting a platen to a point on the outside of a separating plane, and thereby the ink ribbon is separated in bent state from the ground paper and therefore the separation between the ground paper and the ink ribbon is performed well. In this constitution, vibration of the ground paper is prevented and the noise is not produced, and deformation of the ground paper is prevented and the feed amount is held uniform. Further the ground paper only is bent by the separating plate, and the label is separated securely.

摘要： The present invention relates to a printing apparatus, and more particularly to an arranging structure in which an ink ribbon extended from a ribbon cassette is arranged between a platen and a print head. The printing apparatus comprises a platen rotatably supported on a frame, a print head capable of moving reciprocally along the platen, a ribbon cassette replaceably loaded at one end side of the movable range of the print head and housing an ink ribbon with some portion extending outwardly as a loop, and a ribbon guide body located inside the loop of the ink ribbon and for pulling out the same. The ribbon guide body is movably provided along the platen and enters inside the loop of the ink ribbon when the ribbon cassette is mounted on the frame with the ribbon guide body located at one end side of the movable range of the print head. Further, when the ribbon guide body is moved to the other end side of the movable range of the print head as it is placed inside the loop, the loop of the ink ribbon is pulled out in a long strip with the loop guided on the ribbon guide body. Subsequently, the ribbon guide body is locked at its predetermined position.

In a particular application, the apparatus replaces a labeling station and is combined with a case sealing station to seal cases with adhesive sealing tape (50) on a conventional production line. The apparatus (210) includes a variable image thermal printer (30). The thermal printer preferably includes a thermal transfer print head and a thermal transfer ribbon (34) able to print through a release agent on the face of the tape. The tape is dispensed from a tape unwind spool and is routed past the print head with the thermal transfer ribbon (43) positioned between the print head and the face of the tape, and the face of the tape opposite the print head. The thermal transfer ribbon (34) is compatible with the physical characteristics and chemical composition of the tape (50). The apparatus (210) can print any desired product codes, stock or lot numbers, bar codes, and shipping data onto the tape (50). The variable image printer (30) is controlled from a standard operator control panel of a controller (48) integrated with the variable image printer (30).

摘要： An apparatus for printing variable identifying information on the tape is disclosed. In a particular application, the apparatus replaces a labeling station and is combined with a case sealing station to seal cases with adhesive sealing tape on a conventional production line. The apparatus includes a variable image printer, and preferably a thermal printer. The thermal printer preferably includes a thermal transfer print head and a thermal transfer ribbon specially engineered to print through the release agent on the face of the tape. The tape is dispensed from a tape unwind spool and is routed past the print head with the thermal transfer ribbon positioned between the print head and the face of the tape, and the face of the tape opposite the print head. The thermal transfer ribbon is co-engineered with the tape to be compatible with the physical characteristics and chemical composition of the tape. Accordingly, the apparatus can be utilized to label any desired surface with tape having variable identifying information, such as product codes, stock or lot numbers, bar codes, and shipping data printed thereon. In a preferred embodiment the variable image printer is controlled from a standard operator control panel of a controller integrated with the variable image printer.
