摘要： An antistatic and biaxially oriented polypropylene film is manufactured by the steps of (1) adding to crystalline polypropylene, (a) an antistatic agent and (b) a zinc salt of aliphatic acid, (2) melt-extruding the resulting composition to form a sheet or film, (3) orienting the sheet or film both longitudinally and laterally at a temperature below its melting point, and then (4) activating the surface of the resultant antistatic and biaxially oriented film. The film thus obtained possesses a remarkably improved antistatic property and adhesiveness to ink printed on it and to resins coated on it.

摘要： A power supplying device for the operation of a gas discharge container for the treatment of metallic workpieces. For the provision and the adjustment of the operating voltage the power supplying device comprises a transformer, a thyratron-or thyristor full-wave rectifier located in the secondary circuit and an ignition control device for the ignition of the rectifiers. The power supplying device further comprises a device monitoring the discharge and in response to which the ignition control device further serves as a quick-action switch interrupting the discharge during a number of periods. An inductance is located in the primary circuit having such design that the increase of the operating voltage following every zero passage is retarded. Resulting is an extension of the interruption of discharge occuring at every zero passage of the operating voltage causing minor discharge disturbances on the workpiece surface to decay.

摘要： A steady-state, glow discharge plasma is generated at one atmosphere of pressure within the volume between a pair of insulated metal plate electrodes spaced up to 5 cm apart and R.F. energized with an rms potential of 1 to 5 KV at 1 to 100 KHz. Space between the electrodes is occupied by air, nitrous oxide, a noble gas such as helium, neon, argon, etc. or mixtures thereof. The electrodes are charged by an impedance matching network adjusted to produce the most stable, uniform glow discharge.
