    • A novel system, method and computer program product for accessing digital media files stored in a media storage device via a server device in communication with the media storage device. The method provides a Project Sharing feature for enabling collaborative sharing of Non Linear Editing (NLE) Projects, even though the NLE application might normally define and save Projects as a single monolithic project file. The system and method provides a file directory and symlink scheme that allows ALL editors who are “members” of a Project Space to see all the bins created by all other editors, but controlling the WRITE ACCESS to the bins according to whose “User Folder” the bins resided in, i.e., a user-based locking scheme is provided to allow control over who can and cannot write to a file. The system and method further treats a single monolithic project file as a collection of smaller Project files, the permissions and ownerships of which could each be controlled independently.

    • A system and method for measuring the liquid level in a tank or container is provided. The system can have a sensor string comprising a plurality of analog output hall-effect sensors and a computer readable memory containing sensor string information, a float having a magnetic field and positionable relative to the sensor string, and a controller containing at least one processing unit, at least one memory and a sensor string interface for connecting the controller to the sensor string. The system can be operative to obtain the sensor string information from the at least one memory of the sensor string, obtain a preloaded waveform indicating the output of a sensor relative to the position of the float and approximate the position of the float relative to the sensor string using the normalized output of at least one of the sensors and the preloaded waveform.

    • Certain embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a method of producing endoderm cells, such as definitive endoderm cells by exposing stem cells such as embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to an effective amount of at least one compound described herein to differentiate the stem cells into the endoderm cells such as definitive endoderm cells. Differentiated endoderm cells produced by the methods disclosed herein can be differentiated into pancreatic epithelium, and other endoderm derivatives such as thymus, liver, stomach, intestine and lung. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a method of producing pancreatic progenitor cells, such as Pdx1-positive pancreatic progenitor cells by exposing endoderm cells, such as definitive endoderm cells to an effective amount of at least one compound described herein to differentiate the definitive endoderm cells into Pdx1-positive pancreatic progenitor cells. Kits and compositions comprising Pdx1-positive pancreatic progenitor produced using the methods are also described.
