摘要： A dilute or impure hydrofluoric acid in the form of a gaseous or liquid mixture is treated with an at least partially selectively absorptive organic solvent, and the solvent with the solutes is passed in counter-current relation in a stripping column with an inert gas which drives off the impurities and the water, after which the purified acid is separated from the solvent, chosen to have preferred selectivity for HF over the impurities and water, the inert gas also suppressing polymeric reactions in the organic solvent for which the latent tendency to be catalyzed by HF or impurities is more pronounced during stripping.

摘要： A filter equipment containing a number of filter units of conventional design, connected directly to process equipment, in which dust laden vapors are evolved under vacuum. Means are used to back wash, dry and heat the individual filter bags during continuous operation. The backwashing, drying and heating is performed with superheated vapor having the same composition as the vapor evolved in the main process. After condensation, part of the vapor evolved in the main process may be diverted into an evaporator, superheated in the vapor phase and then used for the backwashing, drying and heating. If lines are too long resulting in vapor near the dew point, the effect of double expansion with partial condensation may be used to bring back the vapor to the superheated phase before backwashing a filter bag.

摘要： A mixing and kneading apparatus adapted for producing homogeneous mixtures of powdered plastic materials, such as polyvinyl chloride, polyolefins and finely divided rubber, with liquid plasticizer comprising an elongated hollow kneading shaft, a horizontal casing with a feeding hopper at one end in which conveying, kneading, mixing, homogenizing and plasticizing take place in sequential zones along the kneading shaft which is simultaneously rotated and oscillated within the casing by motor, gear and drive means to reciprocate the shaft forward and backward for each revolution, and a jacket about the casing which is adapted for heating or cooling one or more of the zones. A receiver at the end of the casing remote from the hopper is provided with a rotary cutting device to chop the plasticized stream into granulated particles which are conveyed pneumatically into an outlet pipe.
