    • A fan speed control system includes a rack and a plurality of servers disposed on the rack. The fan speed control system further includes the management module and the fan module. The management module is coupled to the servers, and the fan module is coupled to the management module for dissipating the heat from the servers. The fan module contains the fan, the speed control module, and the main control module. The speed control module is coupled to the fans. The main control module has a primary communication port. The main module which enters the interrupt sequence receives the control signals sent from the management module through the primary communication port when any one of the main modules enters the interrupt sequence. The control signal is delivered to the speed control module for reading the fan speed.

    • A method for determining a sound standard for an input sound signal includes the following steps. Firstly, the input sound signal is filtered to obtain a first filtered signal corresponding to a first frequency and a second filtered signal corresponding to a second frequency. Next, the first filtered signal is frequency-demodulated to obtain a first demodulated filtered signal, and whether the input sound signal contains a FM analog component corresponding to the first frequency is determined accordingly. Next, the second filtered signal is decoded according to a digital sound standard to obtain a bit stream. Then, the bit steam is interpreted according to the digital sound standard, and whether the input sound contains a digital component corresponding to the digital sound standard is determined accordingly. Then, whether the input sound signal matches one of known sound standards is determined based on the determined results above.

    • A process of etching silicon includes treating silicon, e.g. granules or bulk material, with an etching solution, including HF, Ag+ ions and nitrate ions thereby etching the silicon to form silicon having etched pillars on its surface, which silicon includes a surface deposit of silver. The etched silicon is then separated from the spent etching solution. The silver from the etched silicon is dissolved using nitric acid to form a solution containing Ag+ ions and nitrate ions. The solution containing Ag+ ions and nitrate ions is mixed with further HF to form a further etching solution. The further etching solution is used to treat further silicon. The pillars may be used as an anode material in a Li-ion battery.
