摘要： A cured elastomer is formed by partially crosslinking an elastomer compound containing first and second free radical initiators at a first crosslinking temperature T1, then further crosslinking at a second crosslinking temperature T2. Either: (i) the first free radical initiator's half-life is about 0.2-5 minutes at T1, the second free radical initiator's half-life is about 0.2-5 minutes at T2, and T2 is higher than T1 by at least about 30° C.; or (ii) the second free radical initiator's one-minute half-life temperature is higher than the first free radical initiator's one-minute half-life temperature by at least about 30° C., T1 is within about 20° C. of the first one-minute half-life temperature, and T2 is within about 20° C. of the second one-minute half-life temperature.

摘要： A method and system for compression molding a dual core of a golf ball is disclosed. The method may include a first cycle in which a top mold plate, a middle mold plate, and a bottom mold plate may be used to compression mold concave shells. During the first cycle, the top mold plate and the bottom mold plate may be held at a first temperature T1 and the middle mold plate may be held at a second temperature T2. During the first cycle, the mold plates may be pressed together with a first pressure P1 for a first time t1. A second cycle may include compression molding the concave shells about a solid core. During the second cycle, the top mold plate and the bottom mold plate may be held at the first temperature T1 and pressed together with a second pressure P2 for a second time t2.

摘要： A thermoset composite material that my used in the fabrication of structural components including railroad ties comprise a substantially homogeneous blend of an amount of vulcanized rubber particles including a predetermined ratio of different particles sizes, and a thermoset elastomeric binding agent added to the vulcanized rubber particles. The blend may comprise about 30% to about 97% by weight of the vulcanized rubber particles, and the blend is subjected to compression molding at a predetermined temperature and pressure for a resident time period forming the composite material. The ratio of different rubber particle sizes is selected so that the composite material has a desired density or is within a range of desired densities.

摘要： According to the invention there is provided a method of producing a moulded article at least partially from rubber crumb, including the steps of : i) providing first and second complementary moulds (10, 12) each having face portions for forming respective generally opposed surfaces of said moulded article; ii) contacting at least one of the face portions with at least one material selected from the group of : a plastics particulate material and rubber crumb; iii) transmitting heat to the moulds thereby to cause the material to melt at least partially to form at least one layer or skin; iv) introducing a core material between the first and second complementary moulds in which, if the material contacting the face portion or portions in step ii) comprises rubber crumb then the core material optionally comprises rubber crumb, and if the material contacting the face portion or portions in step ii) does not comprise rubber crumb then the core material comprises rubber crumb; and v) bringing together the first and second complementary moulds to form the moulded article.
