摘要： A side knock type mechanical pencil includes a knock button, a barrel, an intermediate lead tube, and a clip. A fixed hole is formed in the side wall of the front end of the barrel, and a rib groove is formed in the inner front side of the fixed hole. At least one button groove is formed in the front end of the knock button, and at least one protrusion or bump with an inclined plane is formed at the lower side of the rear end of the side button. A shaft is formed by the engagement of the button groove of the front end of the button with the rib groove of the fixed hole. At least one circular bulge which is adapted to engage with the protrusion or bump with the inclined plane is disposed on the side of the intermediate lead tube.

摘要： A pencil mechanism replaces a ballpoint pen refill and has an actuator for containing lead. A point of the mechanism is slidably mounted to the actuator and has a shoulder to engage a step in the pen when an end of the point projects from a writing end of the pen. The point has an open end for projecting the writing tip of the lead and a bushing for frictionally engaging the lead in the point to allow for, but resist axial movement of the lead. A point spring between actuator and point biases them apart and a clutch is slidably mounted to the actuator and point. The clutch has fingers for receiving lead and the actuator engages the clutch to close the fingers and fix the lead. Further forward movement of the actuator projects a writing tip of the lead from the pen as the shoulder engages the step to fix the writing tip in a writing position. The actuator is movable rearwardly for releasing the clutch and the lead and allowing the clutch to move rearwardly in the pen for a repeat of the lead feeding cycle.

摘要： An automatic mechanical pencil has a tubular piece removably connected to a barrel cylinder, and a slider for frictionally holding a lead and being movably disposed in a front portion of the tubular piece. A lead chuck is disposed in the barrel cylinder for releasably holding the lead so as to allow forward movement of the lead but prevent backward movement thereof. A first spring urges the slider forward and the lead chuck backward so that when a writing front end of the writing instrument is released from a writing surface, the lead is automatically fed by urging the slider forward. A lead reservoir is disposed rearwardly of the lead chuck to supply the lead to the lead chuck. The lead reservoir has a reservoir main body, a pipe holder connected to a front end of the reservoir main body and having a guide projection, and a stopper disposed around an outer periphery of the pipe holder and having a receiving groove engageable with the guide projection. A second spring urges the reservoir main body and the stopper of the lead reservoir so that the reservoir main body and the stopper move relatively in the axial direction of the barrel cylinder.
