    • A cabin reading light (1) incorporates a light fitting (11) containing a light source (20), a light main body (31) and a spring (41). The cover (12) of the light fitting includes an outer surface (12a) formed of a part of a spherical surface. The body (15) of the light fitting is formed of a metal, and includes a back surface (17a) formed of another part of the spherical surface. The light main body includes a receiving/guiding portion (39) that supports the outer surface. The receiving/guiding portion supports the light fitting so that the light fitting is rotatable, thereby enabling the direction of light emitted from the light fitting to be changed. The light fitting is fitted in the light main body by pressing the back surface using the spring. Either the receiving/guiding portion or cover is formed of a metal, and the other is formed of a resin to avoid problems due to sliding friction in long-term use.

    • An LED lighting assembly (1) comprising a cassette (2) having a lens (4), a printed circuit board (6) having at least one LED bulb (8) mounted thereon; an optic (22), surrounding each bulb (8) and extending between the printed circuit board (6) and the lens (4), and an electrical connector (28) and wherein the lens (4) is arranged to provide a predetermined light pattern (38) defining a personal passenger space which may comprise a non-circular shape. An adjustable aperture means (1034) may be used to control a light output from the assembly (1). The assembly may comprise a number of apertures (1012, 1014) in at least an outer part of the cassette (1000) and a relative arrangement of the apertures (1012, 1014) may be such that air is drawn into the cassette (1000) and over the printed circuit board (1002). An electrical connector (1024) may be arranged to comprise a number of openings (1032) arranged such that air can flow through the connector (1024).

    • A compact lamp assembly for use in interior vehicle application such as reading and courtesy lighting. The lamp assembly includes a housing, a circuit board, and an LED. The housing has a front wall with a concave portion and annular bezel, as well as a side wall and several interior walls. The concave surface includes an off-center opening that is aligned along an axis that forms an oblique angle with respect to the central axis of the housing. The LED is mounted to the circuit board and is positioned in a protective interior space formed behind the opening in the concave surface. When assembled, the LED emits lights through the opening such that it exits the lamp assembly at an angle, traveling along the axis of the opening rather than along the central axis of the housing.

The light fitting body 15 is formed of a metal, and includes a back surface 17a formed of another part of the spherical surface. The light body 31 comprises a sliding/guiding portion 39 that supports the outer surface 12a. The sliding/guiding portion 39 supports the light fitting 11 so that the light fitting is rotatable, thereby enabling the direction of light emitted from the light fitting 11 to be changed. The light fitting 11 is fitted in the light body 31 by pressing the back surface 17a of the light fitting 11 using the spring 41.
