摘要： Provided are monolayer and multilayer films having improved barrier properties. The monolayer film is a blend of two components: (1) a linear low density polyethylene and (2) a propylene-based polymer, a high density polyethylene, and combinations thereof. The propylene-based polymer can be a propylene homopolymer, a propylene/a-olefin interpolymer, a propylene/ethylene interpolymer, or a propylene/ethylene copolymer. The multilayer film has an inner layer located between two outer layers. The inner layer is composed of one or more of the following: high density polyethylene, and/or any of the foregoing propylene-based polymers. The outer layers may be the same or different and are composed of one or more of the following: linear low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, and any of the foregoing propylene-based polymers. The present films exhibit improved oxygen barrier properties particularly for balage applications.

摘要： An apparatus for handling compressible materials is disclosed. The apparatus includes a holding area adapted to accept a compressed charge of material from a compression area of a compacting machine via an inlet at or toward a first end thereof, the holding area further comprising an outlet at or toward a second end thereof, that is smaller in area than the inlet. The holding area includes a pair of opposed sides and an opposed top and bottom defining thereby a passageway aligned to receive a compressed charge and maintain a compressed charge in a compressed state and a substantially rectangular shape. Restrictor plates are positioned within the outlet of the holding area at the top aπc bottom thereof at least, in order to effect a reduction in the distance between said top and bottom. A related method and attachment for handling compressible materials are also disclosed.

The instant fiber bale includes a highly compressed hexahedral fibrous material substantially free of disrupting curvatures on a top side or a bottom side. According to the inventive method, the film (12) is pulled off from a film dispenser (11) across its entire width by means of a pull-off device (6, 7). During a predetermined period of the pull-off operation, a film strip (13) is formed from the film (12). The film strip (13) is introduced into the gap between the round bale (3) to be wrapped and a device that defines the peripheral wall (2) of the baler chamber. When the round bale (3) is set into rotation, the film strip (13) that is located in the gap is locked in. The round bale (3) is rotated until the desired number of film layers is formed on the surface area of the round bale.
