    • A floating modular cover for a water storage consisting of a plurality of modules in which each module includes a chamber defined by an upper surface and a lower surface there being openings in the upper surface to allow ingress of water into said chamber and openings in the upper surface to allow air to flow into and out of said chamber depending on the water level within said chamber to provide ballast for each module floats. The modules prevent water evaporation from the area covered and the shape and size is selected to ensure that the modules are stable in high wind conditions and don’t form stacks. The modules may be made from identical hexagonal or octagonal halves by blow moulding or thermoforming.

    • A solar pool heater system for efficiently heating a pool with solar energy. The solar pool heater system includes a buoyant support member, a distribution unit attached to the support member, a manifold fluidly connected to the distribution unit, a pump unit fluidly connected to the manifold, and a solar unit electrically connected to the pump unit. The pump unit draws colder water from the pool and provides the same to the manifold which distributed the water through distribution channels within the distribution unit. The water is heated via solar energy while passing through the distribution unit. The heated water is then returned to the body of pool water through an exhaust conduit.

    • The invention described is a swimming pool covering system of the type comprising a basic tarpaulin (2) and a covering tarpaulin (3) which are, together, irremovably fixed along the perimetric edge, an inflation valve (4) envisaged for the inlet of air between the basic tarpaulin (2) and the covering tarpaulin (3) in order to realize a chamber (5) and give the covering tarpaulin an arched configuration, a deflation valve (6) envisaged for the release of the air contained within the chamber (5). The basic tarpaulin has a perimetric edge (20) fitted with means of engagement for the anchorage to the swimming pool edges. The covering system is conceived to be transformed from a resting condition, in which it is inactive and the tarpaulins are folded up and placed in a storage bag, to an operative condition, in which the basic tarpaulin is placed covering the swimming pool and is located substantially just above the waterline, while the covering tarpaulin is lifted off the basic tarpaulin creating an air chamber between the two tarpaulins.

    • The pool cover (10) is made of a multi-layer light weight construction having a transparent top layer (14) to permit sunlight to pass through, an opaque bottom layer (15) for absorbing sunlight passing through the transparent layer. In addition, a plurality of pockets (16) are formed in the opaque layer having air encapsulated therein. When in use, the opaque layer becomes heated by sunlight thereby transferring heat by contact to the body of the water in the pool while also blocking light from the body of water to inhibit algea growth. The heated trapped air also serves to conduct heat to the body of water while also acting as a thermal insulation barrier during non-daylight hours. The pool cover may also be turned upside down in use. In other embodiments, all layers may be opaque (Fig 3).
