Double and multiple fabrics; double and single fabrics combined; fabrics with tubular portions; cutting out, weaving to facilitate.-A multiple-ply woven fabric for cuffs is adapted to facilitate the binding of the cuff edges. The fabric shown in Fig. 4 is three-ply with warp and weft threads 7, 8 respectively and interweaving threads 6, and is woven with a single-ply extension 4 and a two-ply extension 3 in which the threads 6 are incorporated. These extensions are turned in to form a binding, or for attachment to the shirt sleeve 2, and the surface of the extension 3 has the same appearance as the body of the cuff owing to the threads 6. The fabric may be woven to form a series of cuff-blanks united by the extensions 3, 4, and may have weakened fold portions for double cuffs. In a modification, the fabric is four-ply, and each extension is two-ply with interweaving threads.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing collar or a cuff quickly absorbing sweat to give a comfortable wearing feeling by using a hydrophilic cloth composed of a hydrophobic fibers raw material as a skin-side cloth, using a cloth composed of a hydrophilic fibers raw material having water-absorbability and water- holding property as a right side cloth and sewing both cloths along a sewing line. SOLUTION: This water-absorbing collar or cuff is obtained as follows: a cloth composed of a hydrophobic fibers raw material and having water- absorbability is used as a skin-side cloth at the site directly touching to the skin in a collar 1 or cuffs 2 of a garment. A cloth composed of a hydrophilic fibers raw material having water-absorbability and water-holding property is used as a right side cloth and a hydrophobic fibers raw material having a water-absorbability higher than that of the skin-side cloth is used as an interlining cloth. Then, the skin-side cloth and the right side cloth are sewn by using a sewing thread composed of a hydrophobic fibers raw material constructed by yarns thinner than the skin-side cloth and along parallel or lattice-like, etc., of plural sewing lines to obtain the objective water-absorbing collar or a cuff.
