This composition is molded, and the obtained molding is treated with a hydrocarbon solvent which can dissolve the thermoplastic polymer to obtain the title material.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain titled sharp-MW distribution polymer particles suitable as particles for foamable polymer beads, by polymerizing styrene by a combination of bulk polymerization and suspension polymerization and at the same time feeding styrene in portions to the reaction system.
      CONSTITUTION: One hundred (100) pts.wt. polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer based on styrene is bulk-polymerized in the presence of an initiator, e.g., benzoyl peroxide, until the viscosity of the reaction system at 20°C becomes 100W 10,000cP.
