摘要： A reactor 20 has a plurality of tubular downcomers 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 and risers 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, joined by sections 86, 88 in a continuous serpentine path the tubes dimensioned to provide substantially plug flow conditions for solid and liquid reagents fed into a first downcomer 24 with the products extracted from final riser 52. The reactor 20 is designed for a desired residence time by the number, height and diameter of the tubes. The downcomers 24, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 may include a bend to improve residence time and to thereby reduce the number of tubes required for a desired overall residence time. The reactor 20 can be used in a leaching operation for producing synthetic rutile, where a pre-treated feedstock including ilmenite, leucoxene or titania slag is leached with hot HCl.

The stiffener is formed by feeding an elongate member through a roll forming die having first and second rollers, the first roller having a shaped section arranged to be located within a correspondingly shaped recess in the second roller, the first and second rollers defining a gap there between corresponding to the desired shape to be imparted on the elongate member, the desired shape including a curved elbow between a web and a foot portion, wherein the shapes of the recess and the shaped section vary such that the radius of curvature of the gap between the rollers corresponding to the curved elbow varies between a minimum and a maximum value.

摘要： The invention relates to using the heat generated during thermal treatment of one or more glass sheets to melt solder. In one nonlimiting embodiment, a lead providing external access to an electrical conductive arrangement, e.g. a conductive member between and connected to spaced bus bars between laminated sheets has an end portion of a connector, e.g. a lead soldered to each of the bus bars during thermal processing of the sheets, e.g. during the lamination of the sheets during a windshield manufacturing process. In another nonlimiting embodiment, the connector is soldered to the electrically conductive arrangement during the annealing of glass blanks following the heating and shaping of the glass blanks. Soldering the leads during the annealing or laminating process eliminated possible thermal damage to the sheet by having the sheet heated during the soldering operation instead of only a small surface portion of the sheet at and eliminates the cost of a separated soldering operation.
