摘要： Composition for a solid state material, in bulk and in thin film form, that provides relatively high dielectric permittivity that is tunable with variable electrical field bias, relatively low loss tangent and low leakage current for microwave applications. In a first embodiment, the material is BaySr1−yTi1−xMxO3, where M is a substance or mixture including one or more elements drawn from a group consisting of Ta, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Al, Ga, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Sc and Re, and the indices x and y satisfy 0≦x≦1 and 0≦y≦1. A preferred choice is M=Ta, V, W, Mo and/or Nb. In a second embodiment, the material is BaySr1−yTi1−x−zTaxMzO3, where M is a substance or mixture including one or more trivalent elements drawn from a group consisting of Al, Ga and Cr and the indices x, y and z satisfy 0≦x+z≦1 and 0≦y≦1.

The aperture is sized to prevent at least a first electromagnetic frequency lower than a cutoff frequency from passing through the aperture. The thermal coupler is coupled to the heatsink block and couples the heatsink block to a heat source.

The pocket has a wall and a floor, and the wall includes a series of elongated arcuate channels. The channels are concave relative to the pocket interior and extend substantially perpendicular to the pocket floor. The wall is substantially flat between the channels. A substantially continuous pedestal projects from the pocket floor. The pedestal has (i) an upper surface for supporting the component, (ii) a pair of support walls extending from the pocket floor and terminating in the support surface, and (iii) a notched portion intermediate the pedestal and defined by a lateral support member extending between the support walls and spaced from the pocket floor, for absorbing lateral components of compressive forces applied to the pedestal.

摘要： A dental floss device for relieving the fingers from being tightly wound with floss and being in contact with wet and soiled spent floss comprises two sleeves--a take-up sleeve for receiving spent floss and a supply sleeve for containing pre-wound fresh floss and an end plug as a cover for the supply sleeve. The use of the device allows a strand of floss to be wound around the take-up sleeve and the end plug respectively instead of directly around fingers while flossing with the device is much the same as flossing with bare hands--a way of flossing which millions are used to. Further, the device is self-contained and reusable. When the supply of fresh floss on the supply sleeve is exhausted, a new pre-wound supply sleeve can be used to replace the exhausted one.

摘要： Methods of manufacturing a III-V compound semiconductor material, and the semiconductor material thus manufactured, are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises providing a substrate comprising a first semiconductor material having a {001} orientation and an insulating layer overlaying the first semiconductor material. The insulating layer comprises a recessed region exposing an exposed region of the first semiconductor material. The method further comprises forming a buffer layer overlaying the exposed region that comprises a group IV semiconductor material. The method further comprises thermally annealing the substrate and the buffer layer, thereby roughening the buffer layer to create a rounded, double-stepped surface having a step density and a step height. A product of the step density and the step height is greater than or equal to 0.05 on the surface. The method further comprises at least partially filling the recessed region with a III-V compound semiconductor material overlaying the surface.
