    • A flexible system for winter traction products that allows for component repairability, interchangeability, customization and resizing, all without requiring tools. The key to this system is the provision of connectors which provide interconnection of multiple components whereby at least three points of connection on three components can be interconnected by the connectors. The interconnection of the points of connection by the connectors enable components to be interchanged within the assembly for establishing a desired style and fit of the tire chain to a variety of tire sizes and tire chain types.

    • Systems and methods are provided to facilitate a transaction between a seller and a buyer. According to one embodiment, seller offer information is received at a controller. The seller offer information is associated with an item, such as a secondary market item, being offered for sale by a seller. Buyer offer information, associated with a buyer offering to make a purchase, is also received. An evaluation rule is determined, and the seller offer information and the buyer offer information are matched based on the evaluation rule. It is then arranged for the seller to sell the item to the buyer. According to another embodiment, an appropriate item price is determined based on the seller offer information. Information associated with the appropriate item price is transmitted to the seller, and an actual item price is determined. According to another embodiment, a subsidy is determined, the subsidy being associated with a benefit from a subsidy provider to be applied to the transaction. In this case, it is arranged for the seller to provide the item to the buyer in accordance with the benefit. A seller offer and/or a buyer offer may be binding, and a penalty may be applied if a seller and/or a buyer does not complete a transaction.

    • The present invention provides a greeting card for mailing at least one consumable product to a recipient and a method for mailing products, especially chewing gum. The package includes a housing including a location for postage and at least one location for an address, where the housing encloses the chewing gum. The package also includes a cover hingedly attached to the housing wherein the cover is movable to reveal information included on the housing to the recipient. Information may also be included on the outside surface of the cover. The information may be a text message such as a greeting, an image or the like. In an embodiment, the housing is inserted into a sleeve to protect and secure the housing. In an embodiment, the cover is affixed to the housing in a closed position by a sealing flap that includes a tear strip for ease of releasing the cover to reveal the information included on the housing of the greeting card.

    • A distributed processing system delegates the allocation and control of computing tasks to intelligent agent applications running on computing resources. This provides flexible control, efficient allocation, scalability, and simple adaptation of applications to the distributed processing system. The distributed processing system includes an agent, a server, and application programmer interfaces. The agent is run on or associated with any computer system contributing computing resources to the distributed processing system. The agents collect information about associated computing resources to assess their abilities to perform available computing tasks. Based on these assessments, agents request jobs from the server. The server assigns computing tasks to computing resources based on the job requests received from associated agents. Agents manage the execution of tasks on their associated computing resources and return results as specified by jobs. Agents can manage the execution of any type of application, including applications not specifically developed for distributed processing environments.
