    • A roller configuration for a grass mowing machine (100) is provided to reduce roller overlap marks. The roller configuration may be used on a grass mowing machine (100) having a first row of cutting units (102-104) and a second row of cutting units (105-106). Each cutting unit (102-104,105-106) has a roller (126-130,132-136) with a reduced diameter portion (137,138,147,148) adjacent a full diameter end portion (139,140,149,150). The full diameter end portions (139,140,149,150) of the rollers (126-130,132-136) on the first row of cutting units (102-104) are aligned with the reduced diameter portions (137,138,147,148) of the rollers (126-130,132-136) on the second row of cutting units (105-106) during mowing operations, and the reduced diameter portions (137,138,147,148) of the rollers (126-130,132-136) on the first row of cutting units (102-104) aligned with the full diameter end portions (139,140,149,150) of the rollers (126-130,132-136) on the second row of cutting units during (105-106) mowing operations.

    • A traction enhancement system (12) and method of using the same for use with a turf mower (10) having a vehicle frame (14), a first drive wheel (20) operably mounted to the vehicle frame, and a cutting unit (28) positionable in a first position, where the cutting unit is supported by ground engaging rollers (42), and a second position, where the cutting unit is supported by the vehicle frame. The traction system is then operably coupled between the cutting unit and the vehicle frame such that the traction system can modulate the cutting unit between the first position and the second position for improved traction of the first drive wheel.
