    • A surgical apparatus and surgical techniques for presbyopia correction and other eye disorders such as glaucoma and cataracts by laser removal of the sclera tissue are disclosed. The disclosed preferred embodiments of the system consists of a beam spot controller (3), a fiber delivery unit (4, 5) and a fiber tip (6). The basic laser beam (1) includes UV lasers and infrared lasers having wavelength ranges of (0.15-0.36) microns and (0.5-3.2) microns and diode lasers of about 0.98, 1.5 and 1.9 microns. Presbyopia is treated by a system which uses an ablative laser (1) to ablate the sclera tissue in a predetermined patterns (9) outside the limbus (8) to increase the accommodation of the ciliary body of the eye (7). Both scanning and fiber delivered systems are proposed. The surgery apparatus also includes non-laser device of radio frequency wave, electrode device, bipolar device and plasma assisted device.

    • The present invention relates to devices used in ophthalmology for laser therapy, and may be used for stimulating the ciliary muscle. This invention can also be used for reducing the risks of unwanted side-effects by lowering the vision tension as the patient keeps looking with both eyes in reference directions that correspond to the position and the convergence of the visual axes of the eyes. The device of the present invention comprises two optical units (1, 1') each having up to two laser emitters (2) mounted therein, wherein said emitters include shaping optics (3) for applying a trans-spectral action using laser radiation on a corresponding section in the prelimbal region of the eye. A light source (4) of the LED type is mounted on the optical axis of each unit. The light source generates a luminous mark in the patient's field of vision so that the patient keeps looking in the reference directions (5, 5') during a laser therapy session. In order to modify the angle between the reference directions (5, 5'), the optical units (1, 1') are mounted on platforms (6) so as to be capable of rotation about their own axes in the azimuthal plane, and so that they can be secured in a desired position. The platforms (6) are further mounted on a guide (7) so as to be capable of longitudinal displacement.
