摘要： A resistance mechanism suitable for applications such as resistance exercise equipment, cable reels, garage doors and other equipment requiring a resistive force. Resistance packs (26) include circular rims (28) and central hubs (30) connected by deformable spokes (32). The packs (26) are stacked in pairs with the rims (28) in each pair pinned together and the hubs (30) ratatable relative to one another. Each hub has a spline (34) connection with the hub of the next resistance pack in the adjacent pair. This provides a series arrangement of the resistance packs (26) which allows a long extension of the actuator with the spokes (32) of each pack being deformed only slightly. A spiral pay out pulley for the cord assists in avoiding varying resistance with extersion of the cord. The mechanism includes a preload system for applying a preload force to the resistance packs and a visual indicator for indicating the level of the preload force. An alternative construction involves forming the resistance packs in a single base having a pair of the resistance devices housed together. The devices may include arms connected by peripheral portions to provide loops that are looped around walls on the base to avoid a need for a bonded connection of the arms to the rims.

摘要： The present invention discloses a golf training and exercise device capable of restricting a player's body position and movement to follow a rotation plane variably adjustable in three axes while exerting a lateral force against a player's upper body. The present invention comprises an exercise device for guiding pivotal and lateral movement of a player's upper body including a support standard (14), a positioning arm (18) including means for variable height adjustment mounted to project from the standard, a rotational axle (30) on the positioning arm defining a primary axis of rotation (A) having adjustment means for positioning the axle relative to two additional axes (B, C), a yoke (28) for receiving a player's shoulders rotatively secured by the axle to the positioning arm, and a pair of depending arms (34) spaced apart on said yoke for confining a player against the yoke and for exerting a lateral force against a player's shoulders during rotation. Advantageously, the present invention provides a repeatable movement, so that the student or professional can return to the same specific motion from one session to the next. The device can also be used to measure and extend movement flexibility. These exercise movements can also be beneficial to other athletic activity.
