    • PURPOSE: A circuit and a method of preventing halation of CPT(Color-Picture Tube) are to control a width of a vertical blanking area at an upper and lower portion of a field corresponding to an over-scanning section, thereby preventing a white signal at the over-scanning section. CONSTITUTION: A circuit for preventing halation of CPT comprises a line counting portion(200) for receiving a horizontal and vertical synchronizing signal separated from an image signal and counting the horizontal synchronizing signal; a memory(300) for storing a vertical blanking start line value and a vertical blanking stop line value; and a micro-computer(100) for receiving a signal output from the line counting portion and the vertical synchronizing signal and comparing the two values stored in the memory to remove the blanking section. A method of preventing the halation of the CPT comprises the steps of: starting the counting operation of the horizontal synchronizing signal if the vertical synchronizing signal is inputted; and determining whether a counted value of the horizontal synchronizing signal is the same as the vertical blanking start line value, and outputting the blanking signal if the horizontal synchronizing signal is the same as the vertical blanking start line value.

A circuit for correcting horizontal of a CRT has a horizontal deflection coil(L) and a correcting coil(Cs) connected to the horizontal deflection coil, wherein the correcting coil outputs a parabolic waveform. An LC serial circuit, where an inductor(L1) and a capacitor(C1) are serially connected to each other, is in parallel connected to the correcting capacitor. The parabolic waveform is corrected through a value of the inductor and a value of the capacitor.

A correction member(100) performs a gain control of the detection signal in the ABL and then applies the gain controlled signal to an output of the comparator.
