    • Stretcher in the form of a trough, of the type comprising a base 1 bordered by a lateral envelope 2 of sufficient dimensions to accommodate a person of adult size; it consists of a sheet shaped in such a way as to obtain, in a monobloc manner, at the upper end of the said envelope 2, a peripheral strengthening rim 3 provided with grip means in the form of handles. The sheet is on the one hand designed with grooves 8 to permit the stacking or interlocking of the troughs in or on one another and, on the other hand, is free from any rough surfaces, inaccessible nooks or folds, or miscellaneous fittings which could prevent total decontamination. Such a stretcher is intended more particularly for dealing with victims of major catastrophies, it lends itself particularly well to large-scale use, it is easy to stock and is in fact presented as a product for widespread distribution.
