    • A line boring tool for boring precision holes through a workpiece. The tool comprises first and second mounting plates for attaching to the workpiece, a boring bar including cutters, first and second centering means for centering the boring bar within a pilot hole in the workpiece, first and second clamping means for holding the boring bar in position, rotating means for rotating the boring bar and drive means to move the boring bar longitudinally through the pilot hole. When the boring tool is positioned and aligned on a workpiece the rotation of the boring bar, together with the longitudinal movement of the boring bar by the drive means, causes the boring bar to enlarge the pilot hole to a pre-determined diameter. In a further embodiment, means to allow for orbital movement of an object, such as the boring bar, is disclosed. The means comprises a pair of floating rings received over a central housing and positioned between a pair of retaining rings. A clamping means is situated between the floating rings. The floating rings are spacially separated by the clamping means such that the central housing is capable of orbital movement relative to the clamping means.

    • A reamer with at least one cutter plate that is held by at least one clamping jaw located in a recess in the head of the reamer and having an opening for a clamping screw is proposed, said reamer being distinguished by the fact that the clamping jaw (5) is shaped essentially as a triangle when viewed from the top, that the opening (23) for the clamping screw (7) is located in a corner of the triangle, and that the lateral surfaces of the clamping jaw (5) starting from this corner form guide surfaces (13, 15), which are provided with contact surfaces in the recess (9) in the head of the reamer. By using this clamping jaw, the cutter plate can be optimally clamped and aligned without weakening the main body of the reamer. Both the flank and lateral surfaces of the clamping jaw interact with the stop surfaces in a recess (9) in such a manner that optimal diversion of the clamping forces in the main body of the reamer also takes place.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve cost reduction by molding a primary molding blank formed on the whole peripheral surface with knife edges according to a powder extrusion molding method and sintering it, while connecting threadingly a tubular body formed on the inner peripheral surface with grooves conforming to said knife edges to the one side of said sintered primary blank in said grooves and soldering the threadingly connected surfaces to each other. CONSTITUTION:A primary blank 2 formed on the peripheral surface from one end to the other end with knife edges is molded once from raw materials of sintered hard alloy material powder and necessary aid agent by a powder extrusion molding method. Then, said blank 1 is sintered at a sintering temperature. Next, a tubular body 5 formed on the inner peripheral surface with spiral grooves 6 corresponding to the spiral of knife edge 1 is connected to the one side knife edge portion 4 to be originally a shank of the sintered primary blank so that the knife edge portion 4 is threadingly connected to the spiral groove 6 and soldered to same to make the shank 7 of the tubular portion. Thereafter, necessary grinding and polishing are performed. Since the shank 7 is united with said blank, the efficiency of production is improved and cost reduction is achieved.
