    • PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the subject plant in which an exogenote is transduced by transducing a recombinant plasmid functioning in a cucumber species plant into a specific microorganism, inoculating the microorganism into a hypocotyl of the cucumber species plant, inducing a transformed callus and regenerating the plant body. CONSTITUTION:The outer testa of a full-ripen seed of a cucumber species plant (e.g. cucumber) is peeled with a cutter knife, subsequently immersed in a 70% ethyl alcohol for 3sec and then subjected to immersing treatment in a disinfectant to carry out sterilizing treatment of the seed surface. The resultant seed is subsequently sown on a solid culture medium, allowed to stand in a thermostatic device at 30 deg.C in the dark for 3 days and grown under photoperiodic conditions of 25 deg.C, 2500lux in the light for 16hr and in the dark for 8hr for 3-4 days to afford a green hypocotyl. A microorganism, belonging to the genus Agrobacterium and comprising a recombinant plasmid, having a promoter, an exogenote and a terminator, functioning in a cucumber species plant and transduced thereinto is inoculated into the hypocotyl to induce a transformed callus. The plant body is then regenerated from the transformed callus to create the objective transformed cucumber species plant.
