摘要： PURPOSE: To improve durability of a cover by forming a cover with a composition containing balata and cis 1,4 polybutadiene, each addition quantity of which is within a specified range. CONSTITUTION: This golf ball comprises a cover formed of a composition containing about 95-about 70wt parts (phr) balata and about 5-about 30phr cis 1,4 polybutadiene based on 100wt parts rubber in the composition, and a core. As an additive material to be contained in the cover, rubber of polymer other than balata and cis 1,4 polybutadiene, a dye, an ultraviolet absorber, and an accelerator are added to the composition. Sulfur is used as a vulcanizing agent, and an inorganic filler is used for adding the weight to the golf ball. The inorganic filler is titanium dioxide, barium sulfate and zinc oxide. As a polymer to be added to the composition, cited are polyurethane, polystyrene and natural rubber. Thus, it is possible to obtain a golf ball which has more excellent durability without deterioration of 'a hit sound' and 'touch'.

In the formation of a golf ball, when two kinds of polybutadienes, matallic salts of carboxylic acid and inorganic fillers are mixed together, the temperature of the mixture rises. The mixing is to be continued until a good dispersion is obtained. The temperature of the mixture is lowered lower than the bottom end of the maximum stability temperature of a free radical initiator and the free radical initiator is added, mixed, put in the mold and hardened under pressure at a high temperature.

摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain good contact between a closing agent and an outer shell, by adopting a two step process of a first step to chlorinate the whole outer shell and a following second step to cut off the outer shell before thread winding. CONSTITUTION: This process comprises a series of steps of chlorinating an outer shell before filling, boring a hole and filling liquid in the outer shell, closing the hole of the outer shell, and cutting off the outer shell filled and coated with a closing agent. The step to chlorinate the outside of the outer shell brings a good result by exposing a core before filling to chlorine solution. It is preferably prepared by dissolving chlorine gas so as to make the chlorine concentration 2700-3300ppm. The closing agent consists of urethane isocyanate and an organic acid is added thereto. Most preferably, core is shaved off after applying the closing agent and before freezing the core.

CONSTITUTION: In transfer molding an O-ring, an uncured rubber material 30 is loaded in a pot formed after a mold is closed by top portions of a top mold half 10 and a top fixed side mold plate 16 and a top plate 28. The movement of the ram 32 and closure of the mold are carried out by virtue of hydraulic pressure. The sprue hole 26 is disposed off a parting line 22. Preferably, the sprue hole 26 is between about 15 to 90 degrees off the parting line, more preferably between about 30 to 90 degrees and most preferably between about 45 to 90 degrees. In addition, it is desirable that the sprue hole is provided within in the top mold half 10.
