    • The exemplary embodiments disclosed herein incorporate transistor heating technology to create micro-heater arrays as the digital heating element for various marking applications. The transistor heaters are typically fabricated either on a thin flexible substrate or on an amorphous silicon drum and embedded below the working surface. Matrix drive methods may be used to address each individual micro-heater and deliver heat to selected surface areas. Depending on different marking applications, the digital heating element may be used to selectively tune the wettability of thermo-sensitive coating, selectively change ink rheology, selectively remove liquid from the surface, selectively fuse/fix toner/ink on the paper.

    • The present invention provides an instrument for anorectal surgery, comprising a hollow main body, a suture junction disposed at a rear end of the main body and an inserting guider disposed at a front end of the main body. At an operating position, all or part of mucosa and tissues can get through the main body. At least one opening is made in the wall of the main body, and all or part of the mucosa and tissues can get into a hollow interior of the main body through the opening.     • A system and method for automatically upgrading the firmware of a display without user interaction, wherein a new version of firmware is downloaded and stored at a host computer. The host computer monitors all communications between the host computer and an external source to determine when new or updated firmware has been uploaded. If the host computer includes a graphic card, the display is checked to determine whether it is active. If the display is active, communication over a communication cable located between the host computer and display is established, and the new version of firmware is uploaded to memory located in the display. The host computer forwards the firmware over the communication cable as at least one signal component, such as data and clock signals, which is transmitted from a graphic card located in the host computer to a graphic processor located in the display.

    • Compositions and methods for promoting weight management are taught by the present invention. Preferably, the methods include the step of administering a composition of bio-active compounds further including 4-hydroxyisoleucine and one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of arginine, aspartate, threonine, serine, glutamate, proline, glycine, alanine, cysteine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, ornithine, lysine, histidine, and gamma-aminobutyrate. In one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention, the bio-active compounds are extracted from fenugreek seeds. The methods of the present invention preferably include a composition of bio-active compounds with between about 10% and 70% of 4-hydroxyisoleucine and between about 20% and 40% of the amino acids. In presently preferred embodiments of the present invention, methods may work independently of or synergistically with insulin to stimulate the activity of glucose transport receptors located in muscle. More particularly, methods of the present invention may stimulate the activity of glucose transport receptor type 4. In another presently preferred embodiment of the present invention, a method for weight management includes the steps of: (1) performing a weight management analysis on an individual experiencing nutritional and metabolic deficiencies which impact proper metabolism of glucose and carbohydrates; (2) extracting a composition of bio-active compounds from fenugreek; and (3) administering the composition of bio-active compounds from fenugreek in an amount effective to enhance muscle glucose transportation within the body of the individual.
