    • A cardan joint transmitting rotation between a first and a second rotating part of a toy building set comprising various building elements having different types of coupling means, e.g. ball heads or coupling studs positioned with mutual modular measure. The first rotating part is connected to a shaft (10) having a coupler head (15) in the form of radially projecting flaps (17) in the axial direction of the shaft. The coupler head (15) is so shaped that the contour of the flaps in an encircling coupling area between the first and the second rotating part essentially follows a spherical surface. The second rotating part is provided with a cavity (33) for receiving the first rotating part. The second rotating part has one or more pins (34, 39) projecting radially within and being displaceable along the flaps (37) of the first rotating part. The rotation is transmitted between the two parts by the flaps (17) of the coupler head (15) being in engagement with the pins (34, 39), thereby turning the second rotating part.
