    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a cutting accessory at a range of speed by a handpiece upon attachment of the cutting accessory to the handpiece. SOLUTION: A surgical handpiece actuates the cutting accessory. A body includes a main bore extending from its distal end to a proximal end and a fluid supply bore extending from the main bore to the proximal end above the main bore and biased, wherein the main bore receives the cutting accessory, a first drive head rotatably attached to the body adjacent to the main bore is releasably engaged with the cutting accessory, and the rotation of the first drive head causes operation of the cutting accessory. The drive head includes a through-bore, and the distal end of the through-bore is communicated to an opening of the main bore. A motor for rotating the first drive head is provided. An inlet fitting part for receiving a supply line is communicated to the fluid supply bore, and a suction fitting part for receiving a suction line is provided.
