摘要： A surgical instrument and a method of repairing a retinal detachment in an eye are provided. The surgical instrument includes a free end and an operable end opposite to the free end for insertion around the eye through an entry aperture. The tip of the operable end includes a hook portion that is rotated around a circumference of the eye upon insertion. Accordingly, the instrument allows for decreased procedure time and also decreased inflammation and trauma to the eye.

摘要： Systems, devices, and methods for treating a glaucomatous eye are provided. Embodiments may provide a treatment probe for treating an eye of a patient. The treatment probe may have an elongate body with a contact surface at a distal end of the elongate body. A treatment fiber or light source may be housed in the treatment probe and may be configured to direct treatment energy from the contact surface. The contact surface may be configured to couple to a surface of the eye to deliver the energy into the target area. In many embodiments the contact surface may have a convex configuration with a rounded outer shape and edge that facilitates the sweeping of the probe surface across the eye during treatment delivery. In some embodiments the probe may be swept in arc motions while delivering treatment energy to the eye.

摘要： Systems and methods generate cross-linking activity in areas of the eye, such as the lamina cribosa and/or peripapillary sclera, to treat glaucoma. An example treatment system includes a cross-linking agent system and an activation system. The cross-linking agent system includes a source for a cross-linking agent formulation and a cross-linking agent delivery device. The delivery device, which is coupled to the source, delivers the cross-linking agent formulation to eye tissue where cross-linking of collagen fibers will strengthen the eye tissue and reduce the effect of IOP on the optic nerve. The activation system delivers an activating element to initiate cross-linking activity in the eye tissue treated with the cross-linking agent formulation. In one embodiment, the cross-linking agent system and the activation system are provided by a catheter system that extends to the target eye tissue for direct delivery of the cross-linking agent formulation and the photoactivating light to the same area.

The invented laser therapy instrument (1) comprises: a beam conducting device with an exit lens system (5) for the therapeutic laser beam, and a device for moving at least part of the beam conducting device, including the exit lens system (5), into the treatment area (5) at the beginning and for moving it out of the treatment area (5) after the use of the laser therapy instrument (1), so that, after the part of the beam conducting device including the exit lens system (5) has been moved out, the treatment area (2) is freely accessible for the use of the other instruments.

The device includes an eye-contact member having an inner contact surface for contacting a front surface of an eye, and a vacuum port formed within the eye-contact member and communicating with the eye-contact member's contact surfaces, by which a negative pressure can be applied between the eye and the contact surface, to stabilize the position of the eye with respect to the device. The device, which is adapted to be biased against the patient's eye, to secure the device to the eye, may be pivotally coupled to a positioning arm, and may carry one or more beam-directing elements by which the position of the device in an external coordinate system can be determined.
