    • A wheelbarrow with a mixing assembly for mixing aggregate building products. The wheelbarrow has a base assembly and an open hopper mounted on the base assembly. The mixing assembly has a mixing blade positioned within the hopper, and a motor. A motor housing is positioned under the hopper, within the base assembly, and houses the motor. A shaft extends from the mixing blade through the bottom surface of the hopper into the motor housing. The shaft connects the mixing blade with the motor, and allows for rotational movement of the blade to effect cutting grooves into the aggregate substances within the hopper when the motor is activated.

    • A mounting assembly for the primary mixing paddles in a pan-type mixer includes a single bolt paddle support arm mounting and adjustment device, and a two bolt paddle mounting feature, both of which are constructed and located to provide reliable adjustability and demountability and to protect the assemblies against the ingress of contaminants and abrasive wear from the materials being mixed. The single bolt clamping device also provides simple vertical adjustment of the paddle height in a manner which retains the adjustment mechanism enclosed against the entry of contaminants. The two bolt paddle mounting assembly encloses both threaded connections inside the body of the paddles, and includes a protective enclosing shroud and positions the exposed bolt heads at the back of the assembly out of the direct path of abrasive materials.

    • A mixing agitator for use in a kettle wherein food is mixed either with or without cooking of the food, the invention allows gentle mixing of substantially liquid mixtures to suspend solids uniformly therein without damage to the solids. The agitator preferably takes the form of a rotary shaft horizontally disposed within a kettle having a substantially hemispherical bottom portion, the shaft having contoured blade-like elements attached thereto which act on rotation of the shaft to lift material from the bottom of the kettle to the top of the body of the food and thus produce a uniform dispersion of liquid and solid materials during a cooking/mixing processing phase, a mixing only phase, or a subsequent phase of dispensing the uniformly mixed material from the kettle. The blade-like elements can be provided at free ends thereof with contoured scrapers which are arcuately shaped to conform to localized portions of the bottom portion of the kettle and which in combination act to uniformly scrape the food-contacting walls of the kettle to prevent "burn-on" of certain food materials during a mixing/cooking processing phase.

    • An improved process for gas-phase bleaching of cellulose pulp at high pulp consistency including in series a gas zone space beneath said gas zone for a column of fibrous material, a mixing zone and a dilution zone, wherein a hub body is located centrally at the bottom of the tower and provided with driving means for rotation of the shaft bearing the hub body, and the torque required for rotating the hub body is continuously measured. The rate of dilution liquid is varied inversely with variation in torque thereby maintaining substantially constant the consistency of the diluted fibrous material as withdrawn from the bottom of the tower. The height of the pulp column is measured and kept constant by controlling the withdrawal of diluted fibrous material.
