    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saber saw reduced in device size and further extended in life.SOLUTION: A saber saw 1 includes: a plunger 20 reciprocally held by a gear cover 6 housed in a housing with a blade 27 attached to a tip thereof; and motion converting means (8, 10, 9, 18, etc.) for converting the rotational motion of a motor 7 into the rotating motion of the plunger 20 in which the plunger 20 is provided with a first bearing metal 19 at a front side thereof and a second bearing metal 28 at a rear side thereof to be slidably held relative to a guide sleeve 13. The first bearing metal 19 is of an inner diameter sliding type fixed to the guide sleeve 13, and the second bearing metal 28 is of an outer diameter sliding type fixed to the plunger 20. The second bearing metal 28 is provided near a rear end of the plunger 20, and reciprocates together with the plunger 20.
