摘要： A method of fastening a second object to a first object includes: providing the first object with an attachment surface; providing the second object; placing the second object relative to the first object, with a resin composition in between the attachment surface and the second object, wherein the resin composition has a resin having a first viscosity and being in a flowable state; pressing the first and second objects against each other and causing mechanical vibration to act on at least one of the objects until the resin composition experiences a vibration induced activation, which includes at least one of reduction of the viscosity of the resin compared to the first viscosity and activation of particles dispersed in the resin. The pressing and mechanical vibration are continued or repeated until the resin has at least partially cross-linked and the viscosity of the resin is increased compared to the first viscosity.

摘要： A method for connecting a surface-structured workpiece (SSW) and a plastic workpiece using a joining tool with a sonotrode. The method includes: positioning the SSW and the plastic workpiece on an anvil such that a structured contact surface section (SCSS) of the SSW faces a contact surface of the plastic workpiece; positioning the sonotrode in contact with an outer surface of the SSW that is opposite to the SCSS; and applying pressure to the sonotrode and/or the anvil perpendicular to the contact surface to hold the workpieces fixed between the anvil and the sonotrode and applying ultrasonic vibrations to the workpieces by the sonotrode for a predetermined period of time to induce softening of the plastic workpiece and penetrate pin-like elements of the SCSS into the plastic workpiece.

摘要： A system and method is presented that provides a manual sonic welding device for welding multiple labels or other articles together. The manual sonic welding device includes an anvil and a head. The anvil is where the labels are placed on the welding device and allows the high frequency vibration from the welding device to be directed to the proper interfaces of the labels. The head allows the multiple labels to be assembled under pressure. Additionally, the manual sonic welding device includes a converter, a sonic horn, and a power supply to seal the multiple labels together. The power supply delivers a high power AC signal, the converter converts the electrical signal into a mechanical vibration, and the sonic horn applies the mechanical vibration to the labels to be welded. The manual sonic welding device also includes dual safety switches which activate the device.

A welding system includes a sonotrode, sensors, and the host machine. The host machine is configured to execute the method noted above.

摘要： A tubular support for use with a hollow fiber membrane is made with an apparatus that comprises a forming machine and an ultrasonic welding machine. The apparatus may also include a coating nozzle for depositing a dope on the support. In operation, filaments are formed into a tubular structure in which the filaments cross each other in radial and circumferential directions, for example a braid. The filaments are ultrasonically welded together at intersections between them. The support is combined with a polymeric membrane wall to form a hollow fiber membrane.

摘要： A method for ultrasonic debulking a composite laminate includes the steps of defining a path across the laminate, the path having a starting location and an ending location and applying a force to and transmitting ultrasonic vibration into the laminate along the path, beginning at the starting location and ending at the ending location. The method further includes determining a temperature of a surface of the laminate proximate to the path and varying at least one of an amplitude of the ultrasonic vibration, the applied force, a feed rate at which the force and the ultrasonic vibration are applied along the path, an angle at which the ultrasonic vibration is applied to the laminate, and an interval at which plies of the laminate are processed, based upon the determined temperature of the surface of the laminate.
