    • A closure or stopper (20) for a container (10) to contain liquid, powder or paste, the container having means to define a first extremely flat annular surface (23), the closure comprising a sealing member (21) defining a second extremely flat surface (22), an annular groove (29) that locates an O-ring (30), and means such as thread (25) to urge the extremely flat surfaces into parallel abutting contact, the extremely flat surfaces adapted to form a surface tension seal when they are urged into parallel abutting contact and means to prevent lateral or shear relative movement. Another form of the closure is the sealing member being a disc (66) that seats on the flat annular sealing surface (67) defined by the top of the neck (12) of a bottle to form a seal, and a metal cap (65) to place the seal under axial load and protects the seal from vibration.

    • An easy-open beverage container with a non-detachable closure assembly includes a container body (19) and integral end wall (20). In one embodiment, the end wall is formed to define an opening (27) through which the container contents can be dispensed and a threaded lip (25) extends about the periphery of the opening. Another embodiment reveals that the wall contains a selectively separable region of predetermined weakness (31) defining an openable panel in the wall. An opening and reseal cap (21) has a depending threaded skirt (26) adapted for operative engagement with the threaded lip (25) of end wall (20). The cap can be threaded onto the lip to seal the can or unthreaded to open up the can for use. An arm (10) is pivotally attached at one end to the can end wall and the cap (21) is rotatably attached to the other end of the arm (10) such that the cap (21) is non-detachably mounted to the end wall (20) through the arm (10). The cap (21) can thus be unscrewed to open the container and the cap (21) and arm (10) pivoted to displace the cap (21) from the opening (27) for dispensing the container contents. To reseal the container, the cap (21) and arm (10) are pivoted back to align the cap (21) with the opening (27) and the cap (21) is rotated to engage the threads (25) and reseal the container.

    • An object is to provide a container sealing device which can perform an opening of an inner plug with a clear opening feeling. An inner plug 10 is assembled in advance to an upper closure 20 by using a second screwing part 52. At this time, since an assembling interval between a separation part 12 and the upper closure 20 can be adjusted by tip end parts 16t and 20u of a cylindrical part 16 which are first stoppers and the small-diameter cylinder part 20d, the second screwing part 52 can be brought into a lock state of being screwed to the deepest position or a state close to that. After that, attachment of the sealing device 100 to the container 1, that is, sealing becomes possible by screwing the upper closure 20 with the inner plug 10 into the container 1. In opening the plug, the upper closure 20 is rotated in the loosening direction with respect to the container 1. Namely, the first screwing part 51 is loosened by rotating the upper closure 20 so as to be screwed back, but along with that, the second screwing part 52 which has been already substantially locked is tightened, and the separation part 12 can be rapidly and reliably separated from a body part 10b of the inner plug 10. As a result, after separation, that is, after opening of the plug, the separation part 12 becomes less likely to be removed from the upper closure 20, and is reliably held.
