    • Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing a safety arrangement for an integrated heater, circulation pump, and motor for an appliance are provided. In an example safety arrangement, the circulation pump assembly includes a heater, a pump, and a motor integrated into a single unit. The circulation pump assembly defines a first end, a second opposite end, and a housing extending therebetween. The safety arrangement includes a hub configured to at least partially surround the first end of the circulation pump assembly and a first shield configured to at least partially surround the housing of the circulation pump assembly. The safety arrangement further includes a second shield configured to at least partially surround the housing of the circulation pump assembly. The hub, the first shield, and the second shield are configured to cooperate with one another to protect the circulation pump assembly from one or more hazardous conditions.

    • A cryogenic pump for liquefied gases is provided, which shortens precooling time, has a small loss of cryogenic liquefied gas, excels in pump efficiency, and is advantageous in cost. A motor 1 and an impeller 2 are coupled by a shaft 3 for transmitting a rotative drive force therebetween, and the motor 1 is arranged on an upper side and the impeller 2 is arranged on a lower side. The motor 1 and the impeller 2 exist in an enclosed space 14 where they are communicated with each other and into which the cryogenic liquefied gas is introduced. A heat adjusting unit 11 is provided between the motor 1 and the impeller 2, the heat adjusting unit maintaining existence of the impeller 2 in a liquid phase of the cryogenic liquefied gas and maintaining existence of the motor 1 in a gas phase of the cryogenic liquefied gas. Thus the submerging of the motor 1 in the liquid becomes unnecessary, whereby the precooling time can be reduced remarkably and the loss of cryogenic liquefied gas due to vaporization caused by the submerging can be reduced, and in addition, the motor 1 itself can be configured at a comparatively low cost.

    • A machinery unit with a heat barrier which separates a part that is hot during operation from a cool part of the machinery unit. The machinery unit includes a fastening mechanism for holding the two parts together and at least one or more force-transmitting elements for producing a flux of force between the two parts. The present invention results in a less complicated, compact heat barrier due to the fact that the hot part and the cool part includes flange-like plates which are disposed adjacent one another at a spaced distance apart. The plates are joined together by one or more force-transmitting metal elements and the junction is made through a minimal cross-sectional area sufficient for the transmission force.

    • A thermal barrier which is interposed between the casing of a pump and the housing of a motor has a first section which resembles a spool and includes a first flange sealingly connected to the casing, a second flange sealingly connected to the housing and a hollow cylindrical core spacedly surrounding the pump shaft between the two flanges. The first section serves primarily or exclusively to establish a seal between the pump casing and the motor housing, and the thermal barrier has a second section which takes up stresses and further serves as a heat insulating and/or heat dissipating device. The second section is removably installed in the space between the two flanges of the first section and spacedly surrounds the core. The second section may be constituted by hollow cylindrical walls, one or more stacks of washers or rings, one or more annuli of parallel tubes, bars, rods, ribs or a combination of such elements. The original second section can be replaced with another second section exhibiting different heat-insulating properties and/or a different resistance to mechanical stresses when the conditions under which the pump and motor assembly is used change sufficiently to warrant replacement of the second section.
