    • An alignment device for telescopic sight mounts (101) utilizes a front alignment portion (103) and a rear alignment portion (105) installed on a firearm 405. A front bushing (109), clamped in a front mount assembly (401) of the firearm provides a precision sliding fit with a front alignment rod (107). A rear bushing (113), clamped in a rear mount assembly (403) of the firearm provides a precision sliding fit with a rear alignment rod (107). Acceptable alignment of the front and rear mount assemblies is indicated by full engagement of a male indicator portion (115) of the front alignment rod and a female indicator portion (117) of the rear alignment rod when the respective rods are slideably engaged. A bore sight engagement element (151) allows bore sighting of the mounts with the rifle bore (425).

    • Systems and methods usable to facilitate adjustments to a sighting device, such as a scope. In one example, an adjustment calculator associated with the scope receives data relating to a distance to a target and relating to at least one environmental variable, such as for example, wind and/or humidity, which may affect the trajectory of a projectile. The adjustment calculator processes the data and calculates a recommended scope adjustment. For instance, the adjustment calculator may output a number of adjustment “clicks” for a rifle scope in order to at least partially compensate for the distance and/or the environmental variable(s). In another example, the adjustment calculator receives data relating to properties of ammunition that may affect the trajectory of the ammunition.

    • A device is disclosed which enables a scoped firearm owner to determine whether a scope has lost zero due to being moved or hit. A blank cartridge form is attached to a second scope by a bracket. To use, the rifle is first sighted in, then the blank cartridge form is inserted to the rifle chamber and the device is rotated around the chamber until a stop device protruding from the bracket touches the rifle scope. The rifle is then placed in a firm rest with the crosshairs of the rifle scope centered on a target at a known distance and the second scope then adjusted to indicate the same aiming point. If the owner is later unsure whether the scope has lost zero, a target can be set up at the same distance, the device again mounted to the rifle, and the two scopes viewed to determine whether the same impact point is indicated. If it is not, the rifle scope can then be adjusted to the spot indicated by the device scope.

    • A axis alignment device has been provided which permits a laser beam to be precisely aligned with a gun bore whose axis is being projected, for the purpose of aligning an optical sight. The axis alignment tool's onepiece body inherently improves the accuracy of the design, while being adaptable to mate with a large variety of gun bore sizes. The alignment device includes a universal seating mechanism for mounting in a muzzle. A bore adapter fits over one end of the one-piece body and is adjusted to snugly fit inside the bore. The alignment devices is designed to operate with an array of bore adapters, that fit a corresponding array of bore diameters. The alignment device also includes a rotary switch which acts as a battery housing, so that batteries can be changed without the disassembly of the alignment device.
