    • Die Erfindung betrifft einen Doppelstromkreis-Akkumulator, d. h. einen Akkumulator mit zwei Stromkreisen, der mehrere miteinander in Reihe geschaltete Zellen enthält, wobei jede einzelne Zelle innerhalb der Zelle in einem gemeinsamen Säureraum angeordnete, miteinander parallel geschaltete positive und miteinander parallel geschaltete negative Platten aufweist, die mittels Separatorplatten voneinander getrennt sind, und wobei ferner der Akkumulator positive und negative Klemmen aufweist.
      Der erfindungsgemäße Akkumulator ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mindestens eine äußere Zelle des Akkumulators mindestens eine Platte aufweist, deren Polarität der Polarität der an der genannten Zelle vorhandenen Klemme entspricht und die von den übrigen Platten gleicher Polarität unabhängig in der Zelle angeordnet ist und eine separate Klemme aufweist, während die übrigen Zellen in herkömmlicher Weise ausgestaltet sind.

    • A lead-acid battery is disclosed, wherein the battery comprises battery modules connected in series, a sealed container, a positive terminal, and a negative terminal. A battery module, in turn, comprises one or more cell assemblies electrically connected in parallel. Next in the hierarchical design, each cell assembly comprises a plurality of electrochemical cells connected in series. Finally, each electrochemical cell comprises a cathode and an anode ionically connected via a separator. In some embodiments, the plurality of modules are disposed within a common cavity in fluid communication via a common fluid. In some embodiments, each battery module has an electric potential of approximately 12 V. In some embodiments, the battery comprises four battery modules and provides a minimum electric potential of approximately 48V.

    • A stand-alone battery monitoring system coupled to a battery product having a positive pole and a negative pole, a housing and an electronics package contained within the housing. A sensor is coupled to and communicates with the battery product and the controller. Multiple code segments form software on the controller, the software includes a code segment acquiring battery product data for voltage and internal temperature from the sensor, a segment filters the acquired battery product data into modified battery product data and processing the modified battery product data against stored parameters, a segment stores battery product data in the portion of memory and retains the battery product data to provide historical battery product data. A code segment compares the stored data against threshold levels and an indicator sends an alert if the code segment comparing the stored battery product data against threshold levels determines that data is beyond those levels.

    • A multiple battery system includes a battery housing, first and second batteries disposed in the battery housing, a one-way charging circuit, and at least one switching device. The battery housing includes at least one positive terminal and at least one negative terminal, which are electrically coupleable to an electrical system. Each battery includes respective positive and negative outputs. The negative output of each battery is electrically connected to the negative terminal(s) of the battery housing. The one-way charging circuit is electrically connected between the positive outputs of the two batteries and is configured to facilitate charging of, but prevent current flow from, the second battery when the first battery is supplying electrical energy to the electrical system. The switching device(s) is operable in at least two states to selectively electrically connect the positive terminal(s) of the battery housing to a selective one of the positive outputs of the two batteries.
