    • The invention describes an insect trap and monitor for trapping and monitoring crawling insects such as bed bugs. The trap comprises two planar elements of substantially the same size, each with flat outer surface and an inner surface provided with a plurality of recessed areas. The opposed recessed areas align to form at least one passageway and a plurality of trapping compartments, with the passageway open at least at one end to provide an entrance to the trap.The trapping compartment are provided with adhesive means such as a non-drying, non-toxic adhesive.The insect trap and monitor further comprises monitoring means for exposing the trapping compartments, such as a tear-off flap allowing for inspection of the interior of the trap before it is disposed.

    • A bed bug device to trap or stop bed bugs may include a substantially vertical back wall having a first layer of detachably connected adhesive to detachably attach to a bed, a top wall being connected to the vertical back wall to prevent a user from interfering with the operation of the bed bug device, a bottom wall being connected to the top wall, and a second adhesive being connected to the vertical back wall to trap the bed bugs.     • A pest control system for bed bugs or similar crawling pests. The system includes at least one intercept wall extending generally perpendicularly to the plane on which the pests are traveling for directing the pests to interact with a trap or a treatment zone. The effect of the intercept wall may be enhanced by provision of at least one substantially smooth guide surface positioned adjacent the intercept wall. When pests come into contact with a smooth surface they experience difficulty in traversing it. This causes the bugs to cling to the more textured surface that they are already traversing. The intercept wall is preferably placed in the direct path of the transition line between the textured surface and the smoother guide surfaces and forces the pests to interact with an adjacent trap or treatment zone.

    • A trapping device and method for capturing and monitoring the existence and behavior of crawling insects, such as bed bugs, is provided. The trapping device has a textured two-dimensional surface with one or more triangular entrance areas, where one of the triangular sections functions as a base, one or more wing sections, connected to either one the base or to another wing section by a neck; and a collecting area connected to one or more wing sections by a bridge. The trapping device can further include a support structure, and can be enclosed in a case with one or more entrances. The trapping device can also comprise a catching area that can optionally include an adhesive for immobilizing the insects.

One or more embodiments of the present disclosure may be found in a circular device, for example, a device with a circular footprint as it sits on the floor. One or more embodiments of the present disclosure may be found in a pyramid device, for example, a device with a square footprint and a three dimensional shape resembling a pyramid. One or more embodiments may include one or more outer access surfaces adapted to allow bugs to crawl up onto the device. One or more embodiments may include one or more rims adapted to cause bugs to fall into a capture well.
