    • Rotatable sleeves are disposed adjacent the ends of the crossbar of a goalpost. A stub is integrally formed with each of the sleeves and each stub protrudes through an opening in the crossbar. The opening in the crossbar is dimensioned to permit back to front movement of the stub and corresponding rotation of the sleeve until verticality of the stub and its associated upright is achieved. At that point, the sleeve is locked against further rotation by means of a tapping block previously installed in the sleeve and engaged with a serrated bolt through an appropriately dimensioned opening in the crossbar and corresponding holes in the sleeve. Once the bolts are tightened into the tapping block, the sleeve is drawn tightly against the interior surface of the crossbar, thereby locking the sleeve and the stub and the upright against further rotation.

    • A new Speed Measuring Sports Goal System for measuring the speed of a shot into a sports goal. The inventive device includes a pair of motion sensors positioned in-line and perpendicular to the entrance of a sports goal for sensing an object shot into the sports goal, a control unit connected to the motion sensors for calculating the speed of the object, and a display unit for providing a visible readout of the speed. The motion detection beams generated by the pair of motion sensors are parallel to one another and substantially perpendicular to the path of the object shot into the sports goal. The control unit detects when the object traverses the motion detection beams and calculates the speed of the object based on the time of travel between the motion detection beams.

    • A soccer ball goal facilitates practice of kicking drills and play of a soccer ball game by a reduced number of players. The soccer ball goal comprises a hoop having a circular aperture large enough to admit passage of a soccer ball. A backboard has a front face which at least as large as the circular aperture of the hoop. A frame rigidly connects the hoop to the backboard. The frame is adapted to maintain the hoop in a position which is in front of the backboard front face, parallel to the backboard front face, and at predetermined distance from the backboard front face. A playing surface engaging means maintains the backboard substantially perpendicular to the playing surface. A ricochet board can be positioned to facilitate rebounded shots into the soccer ball goal. The ricochet board comprises a second backboard having a front face and second playing surface engaging means for maintaining said backboard substantially perpendicular to the playing surface and permitting the second backboard to be movably positioned relative to said soccer ball goal.

    • An outdoor game comprises a plurality of hoops supported substantially upright in spaced relation to each other in a desired pattern in the ground. Each of a plurality of balls is adapted to be kicked or rolled along the ground by a corresponding one of the players. Each hoop is formed of a substantially rigid tube, each end of which fits over the end of a wire inserted part way into the ground. In one embodiment of the hoop, the portion of the wire adapted to be inserted into the tube includes a bend whereby the wire is bent over on itself. Additionally, one end portion of the wire is bent so as to rest parallel to the ground. This end portion may used to push the hoop into the ground with a foot.

    • A ball toss game and method of playing enables multiple players that form two teams to take turns tossing two sets of uniquely colored or patterned balls into two silos positioned at a predetermined distance from each other, and then award points for a final ball thrown into a top position of the silo. Two sets of balls having unique color or patterns are tossed into the receiving opening of silo. As balls are tossed into the silos, a stacked arrangement forms until final ball is tossed into a top position of stacked arrangement. Points are awarded to the team having the final ball in the top position. The silos have a top funnel forming a receiving opening, a bottom base, and a tube extending between top funnel and bottom base. A restriction member block and releases the balls from falling into the bottom base to be retrieved.
