    • PURPOSE:To improve the cooling capacity as well as the heat transfer efficiency of an icing temperature storage chamber by a method wherein a bulkhead is closed in winter and peripheral wall surfaces are opened to communicate an ice chamber with atmosphere while high- pressure water, containing icing point reducing agent, is sprayed into the ice chamber to accumulate and form ice blocks. CONSTITUTION:A storage chamber 1 is installed on a base table 8, heat insulating material 6 is arranged on the inside of side walls 4 and roofings 5 and is constituted of a storage chamber 2, storing agricultural products, and an ice chamber 3, accumulating and storing ice grains, while the storing chamber 2 is partitioned from the ice chamber 3 by a bulkhead consisting of a partitioning plate 7 and the heat insulating material 6'. The ice chamber 3 is provided with communicating ports (a), (b) on the roofing and the side walls thereof so that cold atmosphere can be communicated therewith. In nighttime mainly in winter, high-pressure water, containing icing point reducing agent, is sprayed into an icing temperature storage chamber through nozzles 9 as fine water drops. The fine water drops, containing the icing temperature reducing agent, are frozen and become ice particles, then, are dropped on the bottom of the ice chamber 3 and are accumulated. The high-pressure water is sprayed from the spray nozzles 9 white the sprayed water drops are frozen and ice blocks 17 are hardened. In summer, the necessary parts of the partitioning plate 7 and the heat insulating material 6' are removed properly to communicate the inside of the storage chamber while the communicating ports (a), (b) are closed whereby the inside of the icing temperature storage chamber 1 can be retained at a low temperature of about 0-5 deg.C.
