In addition, the present invention is adapted to suspend the bicycles from their front wheel by engaging the front tyre of the bicycles, and without needing to engage the rim of the front wheel, or the frame of the bicycle. Moreover, the assembly is adapted to allow the bicycles located in the upright orientation to be moved while on the assembly from side-to-side to allow bicycles storage to be clustered together and a bicycle to be retrieve from storage to be spaced further apart from adjacent bicycles.

摘要： The present invention relates to an assembly for storing bicycles, the assembly including: at least one fixed rail; and a support frame on which at least one bicycle can be loaded in an elevated position above the ground, wherein the support frame is moveable on the rail between a forward advance position for loaded and unloading the bicycle from the support frame, and a rearward retracted position for storing the bicycle. When the support frame is in the forward advanced position, a bicycle loaded onto the support frame can be locked to the support frame using a conventional bicycle lock.

摘要： An assembly 10 for storing a bicycle in an upright orientation by engaging the tyre of the front wheel of the bicycle comprises a first formation 11 that is configured to engage an upper part of the front wheel, a second formation 17 that is configured to engage a lower part of the tyre of the front wheel, and an actuator (20, figure 2) that is operably connected to the second formation 17 to move the second formation 17 toward the first formation 11. In use front wheel is placed on the second formation 17 and moved rearwardly relative to the formations 11, 17 moving them apart to accommodate the wheel therebetween, and thereafter, the actuator is operable to move the second formation 17 toward the first formation to secure the front wheel in an upright orientation. The actuator 20 may be a spring. The bicycle may be removed by a user pulling it out f the stand against the resistance of the actuator 20.
