This has been made possible by utilizing at least some of the expansion force from the propellent powder charge 11, which discharges gas when it is initiated, for, by means of a displaceable piston 7, driving a countermass 8 out of the rear part 13 of the projectile in the direction opposite to the desired flying direction of the projectile 4.
