摘要： A method and apparatus are described for providing a body of material (14) with sub-surface mark in the form of an area of increased opacity to electromagnetic radiation. The method comprises directing at a surface of the body (14) a high energy density beam (12, 26) to which the material (14) is transparent and bringing the beam (12, 26) to a focus at a location spaced from the surface and within the body (14) so as to cause localised ionisation of the material (14). In a prefered embodiment the apparatus includes a laser (10) as a high energy density beam source and provides means (36, 38) to move the focus of the beam (12, 26) relative to the body (14) so as to enable the mark to be of a predetermined shape.

摘要： There is described a fitment (10) for a container (14) housing one-way valve means adapted to enable the contents of the container to pass outwardly therefrom. The one-way valve means comprises a valve seat (36) and a valve member (34) movable out of and into engagement with the valve seat (36) to respectively open and close the valve means. At least one of the valve seat (36) and valve member (34) is formed of a resiliently deformable material and at least one of the valve seat (36) and valve member (34) are provided with a groove (60) such that when the valve member (34) lightly engages the valve seat (36) the groove (60) defines a pathway for the passage of air both into and out of the container. However, when the contact force between the valve seat (36) and the valve member (34) exceeds a predetermined value, at least one of the valve seat (36) and valve member (34) is deformed sufficiently to close the pathway.

There is also described an assembly comprising two bodies having a fusible material at an interface therebetween of which only a portion has been fused, the fused portion extending between the two bodies and securing each with respect to the other. In particular there is described a glass bottle having a fitment or closure also of glass, the glass fitment or closure being fixed in position with respect to the bottle by means of fused glass.
