    • The present invention addresses a problem of providing a composite seal material that has performances, such as a vacuum sealing performance, plasma resistance, and corrosive gas resistance, in combination, that does not require a strong pressing force during use, that does not have a possibility of generating particles, and that is capable of maintaining the vacuum sealing performance for a long period of time. Characteristics of a solution to the problem is a composite seal material having an annular shape and including a first member and a second member adjacent to each other on left and right. The first member includes a seal body portion, and a lip portion extending from the seal body portion upwardly in the thickness direction of the composite seal material. The lip portion of the first member extends in an inclined orientation outwardly on a side opposite to the second member adjacent thereto.

    • Provided is a seal structure capable of improving the service life of a seal material. This seal structure (1) is provided with an annular seal material (10). The seal material (10) is disposed, in a sliding clearance between a shaft (20) and a case (30), in a seal groove (31) formed in the case (30). The case (30) has a low pressure-side surface part (32) in a seal structure (1) cross section on a virtual plane which is parallel with an axial direction (DR1) of the shaft (20) and passes through the center line (C1) of the shaft (20). The seal material (10) includes a first protrusion part (11). The first protrusion part (11) protrudes from the main body part (12) having a bottom surface (13) contacting the low-pressure side surface part (32), and has a shape extending so as to approach the shaft (20) when extending toward the low-pressure side. The first protrusion part has a tip part (14). The first protrusion part has a contact region (S) contacting the shaft (20). The tip part (14) is provided at a position closer to the low-pressure side than the contact region (S).

In a seal material (10) cross section on a virtual plane which is parallel with a direction perpendicular to a radial direction of the seal material (10) and passes through a center line of the seal material, when the longest length between the installation surface (42) and the upper surface (43) in the direction of extension of the center line of the seal material is H [mm], and the shortest length between the installation surface (42) and the upper surface (43) in the direction of extension of the center line of the seal material is h [mm], the relationship 0.755≦h/H≦0.769 is satisfied.
