摘要： The device consists of two separate parts: a stationary unit (12) which contains a motor (16) and vacuum pump (14), and a mobile head (20) with a power-supply switch for the motor and an aspirating nozzle designed to fit over the valve (32) in the lid of an airtight container (28, 30). The mobile head connects to the stationary unit with two flexible coaxial spiral cords, consisting of a hose (22) linking the vacuum pump and aspirating nozzle, and a power cord (36) linking the switch to the electrical motor. Both lines can easily be stretched together from the storage position, in which the mobile head sits on the stationary unit, to active mode, in which the suction effect keeps the mobile head coupled to the container.

摘要： A system and method is described for detecting a foreign object such as a skimmer placed adjacent to a bezel for a magnetic card reader device, as used in automatic teller machines and gas pumps. At least two sensors are mounted adjacent to the bezel. Each sensor provides a signal that varies when a skimmer is mounted adjacent to the bezel. A controller receive measurement signals from the sensors, and generates an alarm signal when the measurement signals differ from associated predetermined baseline signals by at least associated predetermined thresholds. The alarm signal indicates that a foreign object has been detected adjacent he bezel. The sensors may be capacitive, time of flight, spectral, radar, and/or inductive. The capacitive sensors may include three or more plates, forming multiple capacitive pairs, each capacitive pair effectively forming a separate sensor.

摘要： A rechargeable electric fan with a fan portion, a base portion, and a telescoping mast hingedly attached to and connecting the fan portion and the base portion. The fan portion has removable front grille, engageable in a first position in which the grille is retained in the front opening of the housing of the fan portion. The grille is rotatable from the first position to a second position in which the grille is released from the front opening. Slots are disposed on a periphery of the grille, and are configured to engage with corresponding tabs disposed on a periphery of the front opening, to retain the grille in the first position, and to release the grille when it is rotated into the second position. To prevent inadvertent release of the grille, a latch mechanism is configured and disposed to lock the grille in the first position, the latch mechanism comprising a button and a latch configured and disposed to release the lock when the button is depressed. The base portion comprises an oscillating mechanism including of a motor-driven pinion which engages an annular gear in the floor of the base portion. The floor is rotatably retained to the remainder of the base portion, so that when the pinion is turned by the motor, the entire fan turns about the stationary floor.

摘要： A location tracking system maps anatomical structures in a first coordinate system, in a fixed position within a medical imaging system, which captures 3D images in a second coordinate system. The 3D images are converted to and stored in a standardized format in a third coordinate system in accordance with a first coordinate transformation. A first 3D image captured by the imaging system is registered with the first coordinate system so as to produce a second coordinate transformation. The first and second coordinate transformations are combined so as to derive a third coordinate transformation between the first and third coordinate systems. A second 3D image of a body of a subject, captured by the imaging system, is processed in order to extract image features in the third coordinate system. The extracted image features are joined with location data captured by the location tracking system by applying the third coordinate transformation.
